RC Aircraft MotorsElectric motors for Radio Controlled Aircraft come in a wide variety of sizes and configurations to suit an incredible array of applications.

Airplanes and Helicopters need to be very light for optimum performance so RC flying enthusiasts have led the charge to brushless motors.

Ultra light, ultra fast and requiring a minimum of maintenance, brushless motors are definitely in the future of all RC applications but are typically a bit more expensive and require specialized Electronic Speed Controls.

Brushed motors are still widely available to fit almost any application.

The Local Scene

Woodstock Radio Control Flying ClubThe Woodstock Radio Control Flying Club rents a flying field from the Upper Thames Conservation Authority. Active since the 1950's the WRCFC , they offer a Wing Training program where new flyers are trained in safe flying and all model aircraft are checked for safe operation.

Bluewater FlyersBluewater Flyers field is about halfway between Sarnia and Petrolia.

They are a non-profit association of about 40 friends who have been getting together since the early '70s to help one another build and enjoy all types of model aircraft.

In winter, the Bluewater Flyers fly electric and micro RC aircraft indoors.
